Description: Phlebotomy is an important skill for healthcare providers that can be used in various healthcare settings including hospitals and clinics. Knowledge of anatomy, venipuncture techniques and blood specimen collection is essential for any health care professional interested in this field.
This workshop combines theory and practical hands-on training. The training includes simulation on mannequins and 4 venipunctures on volunteers. The theory is provided by a physician and the practical hands-on is supervised by Certified Phlebotomists.
This certified workshop is ideal for undergraduate students, international medical graduates, nurses, laboratory technicians or assistants. Graduates will receive a Certification upon successful completion of the practical training.
This course is supervised and guided by Dr. Delgado, who is an Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine of the University of Toronto. Dr. Delgado is teaching facial anatomy and novel medical aesthetics techniques Nationally and Internationally. Dr. Delgado is also a member of the Humber’s Medical Aesthetics Program Advisory Committee.
Program length: 1 Day (6 hours)
Schedule: Saturdays or Sundays from 9AM to 4PM or customized schedule is also available.
Pre-requisites: Degree or Diploma in a medical discipline or a minimum of 1-year experience in a medical setting. English proficiency.
Credential: A workshop certificate is issued by Vita Medical Aesthetics Academy.
